In the late 2014 season Marussia went into administration alongside Caterham. The high costs of running in Formula One ultimately beat them but Marussia survived and joined the 2015 season newly named as Manor F1 Team. This seems a strange choice as they were struggling for even the small funds to run the team, so how could they come back from this and become successful with a year old engine?
Prize money from scoring points is given to the teams at the end of the season, meaning the millions gained by Jules Bianchi's 9th finish in the Monaco Grand Prix 2014 was only given to the team at the end of the season. However, as they went into administration they couldn't have the money and there was a big debate of where the money should be distributed including giving it the the next team above in the championship. Marussia joined as Manor F1 and received their prize money but i'm not sure whether it was a good idea to return.
When the team arrived for the Australian Grand Prix it was instantly clear that there was a lack of sponsorship on both cars - a clear sign of their money troubles. They failed to get the car on track for the FP3 and qualifying sessions so they couldn't race. From the very start, this seemed to be a disastrous attempt of returning.

Currently, they're still seconds off the pace to the front runners and not close to the midfield either. This would lead you to think that they have no chance of remaining in Formula One for much longer but they should keep positive! Since the start of the season the team has gathered a few sponsors and look to be improving their pace all the time.
Later in the season, Ferrari should supply them with their 2015 spec power unit. This will certainly boost the team's performance dramatically. Add this to their aerodynamic performance upgrades, and Manor F1 may even challenge for 10th place in the last few races if they're lucky.
