There are many talented Formula One drivers on the grid this season but they were all in lower series at some point in their careers and were tracked carefully by the guys in the big league (F1) up to the point of their entry to Formula One. It's important to keep track of young talent in all sports, not just Formula One.
In the GP2 season so far, Stoffel Vandoorne is the man almost always found at the front of the pack. He had a qualifying record before the Monaco Grand Prix when rainy conditions meant he could only take second (but he still won the race). Whilst leading the championship comfortably, he's showing his talent all the time and is surely a favourite for a drive in Formula One in the near future.

Picture this: Vettel is dominating during the second half of the 2013 season whilst Max Verstappen is still karting! Yes that's true! And to add, he's only 17 at this moment! In only 7 races, he's shown himself to be a very competitive racer but he still has a lot to learn.
I believe all upcoming stars of motorsport should prove their talent in the lower categories before entering Formula One. Max Verstappen skipped many of the lower series and got straight into F1. Going through the lower series gives young drivers the chance to learn a lot more, gain experience, and to show that they can be competitive against any driver and team in any category.
Young talent is obviously something Formula One cannot live without. If no young, talented drivers came into the sport it would die out! As I've already stated, it's essential to keep track of the best young drivers as this provides the teams in Formula One to snatch up and sign them as soon as possible.
Comment Challenge: Do you think Max Verstappen is too young to be in Formula One? Why?
